Overview
TB-500 is a synthetic version of Thymosin Beta-4, a naturally occurring 43-amino-acid peptide found in virtually all human and animal cells. It plays a key role in building new blood vessels, muscle fibres, and cell migration.
Mechanism of Action
TB-500 works primarily by upregulating actin — a protein essential for cell structure and movement. By promoting actin polymerisation, TB-500 facilitates cell migration and proliferation, which underpins its observed effects on tissue repair and regeneration.
Key Research Areas
- Muscle repair — observed regeneration of damaged muscle fibres in animal models
- Cardiovascular tissue — research into cardiac repair following ischaemic events
- Inflammation modulation — anti-inflammatory properties noted across multiple studies
- Hair growth — early research suggesting follicle stimulation
BPC-157 vs TB-500
Researchers often compare BPC-157 and TB-500 due to their overlapping tissue-repair profiles. Read our complete guide to BPC-157 for a breakdown of how the two compounds differ.
